第七课：生命的意义是什么？

1.Do you know any successful people? What does success mean to you?你知道一些成功人士吗？成功对你来说意味着什么？

What are your dreams for the future? 你未来的梦想是什么？

1.1succeed动词，成功。

succeed in (doing)sth.在(做)某事上取得成功。

1.2success名词，成功；成功的人(或事)

①意为“成功”，是不可数名词；

②意为“成功的人(或事)”，是可数名词。

1.3successful形容词，成功的。

be successful in(doing)sth.在(做)某事方面成功的。

He is successful in doing everything.

他做一切事情都很成功。

2.After the history class, Li Ming sits in the classroom, deep in thought.

历史课后，李明坐在教室里，陷入了沉思。

2.3.1想知道,想弄明白,琢磨

①wonder about 对……感到疑惑/怀疑

I wondered about the truth of him words.我怀疑他的话的真实性。

②wonder +宾语从句

I wondered which school it was you went to.我想知道你上的是哪所学校。

③wonder + if/ whether 从句

常用来表示一种委婉的请求或疑问。

I wonder whether/if you can help me to solve the problem.我想知道你能否帮我解答这个题。

④wonder +特殊疑问词+ to do

I am wondering what to do next.我在考虑下一步做什么。

2.3.2感到诧异,非常惊讶

①wonder at 对……感到惊讶

I wondered at his beautiful singing.他优美的歌唱让我感到惊讶。

2.3.3wonder用做名词

①不可数名词：惊讶,惊奇,惊叹

He looked at the beautiful scenery with wonder.他惊讶地看着这片美景。

②可数名词：奇观,奇迹,奇事

We are proud that the Great Wall is one of the wonders of the world.我们为长城是世界奇迹之一而感到自豪。

③wonderful形容词，精彩的;令人惊奇的，

We had a wonderful time last night.我们昨晚过得非常愉快。

4.Those are good questions, too. But... what is success?那些也都是些好问题。但是……成功是什么？

And how do you know if you've succeeded?你怎样知道自己是否成功呢？Does it mean that you have a good job? Does it mean that you are rich and famous?成功是不是意味着你有份好工作？意味着你很富有、很有名呢？

4.1Does it mean that you have a good job?的肯定式为it means that you have a good job.

4.2mean that中that引导宾语从句,不充当句子成分，也无实际意义，可以省略。

4.30 if 和 whether用法区别

① if 和 whether 都可以引导宾语从句,表示“是否”。

I wonder if/ whether I can get some advice from you.我想知道我是否能从你这儿得到一些建议。

②在下面几种情况下,只能用 whether 而不能用 if：

i.动词不定式前

I'm not sure whether to drive or take a bus.我不确定是开车去还是坐公共汽车去。

ii.介词后

It all depends on whether it rains or not.一切都取决于天下不下雨。

iii.与 or not直接连用时

I don't know whether or not he will

come.我不知道他会不会来。

5.Those are all really important questions and very difficult to answer.那些都是重要的、不易回答的难题。

I'm not sure how to answer them, but I think we should try our best to live a good and happy life.我不确定怎样回答它们，但是我想我们应该尽全力过上幸福美好的生活。

5.1I'm not sure how to answer them中how to answer them为“特殊疑问词+动词不定式”，做sure的表语(宾语)。

5.2try/do one's best to do sth.尽某人最大努力做某事。

6.That sounds right to me. My dad always says that we should be good to others.

听起来正合我意。我爸爸经常说，我们应该对别人友善。

6.1be good to sb.对某人友好。

7.Exactly! If we are living a happy life, but the people around us aren't, is that a good life? I'm not so sure... It seems like something is missing.非常正确！如果我们生活幸福，但是周围人并不幸福，那算是幸福生活吗？我不太确定……它看起来好像缺少点什么。

7.1live a happy life过着快乐的生活。

7.2around us是介词短语做后置定语，修饰people。

7.3seem like意思为：仿佛…似的，后接名词或者从句。

The bananas grow together, which seem like "hands".香蕉长在一起，看起来像手。

8.I agree. I have an idea, Wang Mei.

我同意。王梅，我有一个想法。

8.1have an idea有一个注意。

8.2write…down…把……写下来。

8.3survey[ˈsɜː(r)veɪ]动词/名词，调查。

do/make a survey on做一项关于……的调查。

8.4agree with sb.同意某人(的意见)

agree to do sth.同意做某事

agree on sth.就某事达成一致
